Mozart himself would hardly have thought it possible what could be elicited from the human vocal apparatus in the "Aria" for soprano solo by Iris ter Schiphorst. Schwier seemed to mobilise all possible tones and sounds. She moved vocally from the very top to the very bottom, sometimes breathy or whispered, sometimes in Sprechgesang and surprised the audience with sounds that are unlikely to be found in any opera literature.
