Reviews
New Journal for Music, 4/2006, Dirk Wischollek
One of the most impressive pieces of the festival was Iris ter Schiphorst's 'Zerstören' (Destroy), which transforms the global omnipresence of violence into multi-layered sound reactions.
an 'inner film that captivated with its abysmal agitation.
Positions - Contributions to New Music, Issue 68, August 2006, Stefan Drees
... The interlocking soundscapes, whose pent-up energies Iris ter Schiphorst brought to bursting point in her gripping ensemble piece Zerstören (2005/06), only to extinguish them towards the end, had an almost physical presence.
FAZ, 16.05.2006, Gerhard Rohde
When Iris ter Schiphorst composes her ensemble piece 'Zerstören' (Destroy) against the backdrop of current political events, it also reflects the emotional strain placed on the individual by external catastrophes. In its layers of sound, sequences of excitement, psychologically perceptible vibrations and noise attacks, 'Zerstören' is a reaction to reality - a kind of composed self-defence.
